Discipline Me | Matt’s Smut Vault

Welcome back to the Smut Vault! We all love a nice happy ending, right? Particularly with our romance, steamy or not, the idea of the characters living well with their choices is something we all like to see. It’s a well worn joke to imagine the marriage of a Disney princess and her perfect husband coming to blows over the completion of a house chore. But how often do we get to truly examine what happens after we fade to black on a nice love story that doesn’t beat us over the head with the possibility of a sequel? Maybe we’ll address such a concern today, as we’ve been fortunate enough to receive a new volume in a uniquely branded love series. It’s not exactly a Cinderella story, but I’m thinking that the Smut Vault faithful will identify a little more with these proceedings anyway. It’s a dom/sub party y’all!

Discipline Me by The Secret Submissive is a continuation, or perhaps a spiritual successor of the series “A Taste of Submission” that we had the honor of previously reviewing. In that story, we learned of a couple just beginning their journey. More importantly, we read about a young woman first learning to submit. This time around however, we can sense the happy ending in the rearview mirror. Jay and Laila are married, but not all seems well in this supposedly obedient household. With Jay/Sir/Master having a lot on his plate professionally, the submissively needy Laila is beginning to feel left out. As you might expect, the little one is lashing out, causing Sir to dish out more punishments whether he likes to or not. Tough times call for tough measures, and as the IRL problems keep stacking up, Jay makes an executive order. Can this relationship endure or perhaps thrive under the concept of…..Domestic Discipline?

The themes examined in this short story are best tailored to the advanced dominant/submissive lifestyles. While no erotic story should ever be a true “blueprint,” there should be extra special care to note that these ideas won’t be for everyone. While growing beyond merely a service of the bedroom, it’s time for our submissive friend to learn that she’s there to serve and obey ‘round the clock. While to my mind the dom is coming off as a bit “controlling”, it appears to be what Laila needs. Real world problems like speeding tickets and public embarrassments are now to be punished the same way as a violation in the bedroom, and that’s just the way she likes it. Reading this from Laila’s point of view gives us more great insight into her NEED for attention and even greater desire to live and love for her master. She’s surely always thought this was a complete lifestyle submission, but maybe it’s taken all this time to work out the kinks. Conflict comes in her desire to lash out, less as a brat and more of a partner who’s not quite sure how to get what she’s after. Breaking rules and getting into even more trouble, the couple eventually find common ground in the most unlikely of scenarios. I’ll save the details, but there’s one more factor we have to touch on.

As the couple are exploring their renewed trust, they start to play a game in a public party setting. Straight forward and sexy: Jay gives directions and Laila is to obey. The commands are somewhat open ended and cause Laila to need to get creative. If Sir requires a sexy pic, maybe a sneak shot of someone’s sexy cleavage…it’s a lot of fun to read and I was glad to see it added. What’s more notable however, is how the game ended. Like all good dom/sub relationships, there’s always a safe-word in play, but in a truly unique erotica fashion, the safe-word was actually used! While usually the notion of a safe-word is just a quick mention between characters to keep up the responsible realism, Laila ends the game when things get too risky per Sir’s orders. Maybe I don’t read enough of these stories, but I’m blown away and THRILLED to see this finally getting used. It’s ok to admit when things are getting out of hand, and the pair go on have one of the hottest sex scenes I’ve ever read in a piece of erotica, fueled by achieving the perfect amount of thrill, and finally confirming where the sweet spot is in their relationship.

Verdict: Discipline Me by The Secret Submissive is a dynamic, dynamite thriller of an erotic short that goes far beyond the basic Sirs’N’Masters of a baseline dom/sub relationship to better examine the finer points of the lifestyle. The rules, defiance, punishments, and rewards between the lovers come off as realistic without losing the sexy edge that the fantasy of fully giving yourself to a partner is sure to yield. So long as it’s understood that these elements are purpose built for the characters and not for everyone, it’s easy and fun to get lost in the passion that these two feel for each other. After the journey leading to and the culmination of one of the finest sex scenes to my tastes and passions, there’s nothing else that needs to be said than: I’m ready for more.
