Our lovely renovated Smut Vault loves a good compilation. I’ve found that erotica authors often have some great ideas that maybe wouldn’t work in a full length story, or even be enough to stretch over a standard novella. The solution? Pack a bundle of red-hot bite sized teasers together and give the hungry masses an easy “pick-up-and-read” experience. This week, Riley Richman has kindly offered up a bundle of her “lesbian desires” stories, and we’re reeling to dig in to see what she has in store for us. We enjoyed everything that she brought on her last visit, so let’s see what she’s got in store for her second appearance in The Vault with First Time Lesbians.
Story 1: Lusty Licking Roommates
It goes without saying, but our friend Riley hasn’t softened her story titles one bit since our last encounter. Her compilation starts off with a bang with Lusty Licking Roommates. Sarah, fresh out of college and broke as a joke is feeling lost. Not figuratively, mind you, but feels actually lost. She’s having her car valet parked at this impossibly fancy looking high rise apartment after answering an ad for a $500 a month roommate deal. Five bennies for this place?! Something’s not right but before she can investigate further the proposed roommate makes herself known in the building’s lobby. Jess, a tall drink of water takes Sarah’s hand and shows her around the immaculate facility. Jess is rich, obviously, but we can’t quite figure out the “catch” to this sweet deal. Maybe if Jess could take her hand off Sarah’s thigh she’d be able to think it through. Ah well…
Story one features some straight forward but simply sizzling lesbian eroticism. Despite the potential for unspeakable dark kinks given the story’s setup, the roommates share a candid and lovely time getting to know each other, inside and out. In my own personal opinion, the story lacks some depth in the exploration of a “curious” woman in regards to her sexuality…but it’s all in good fun, and in the end everyone leaves this story satisfied, reader included. In this end however I’m not sure which facet of this story is a bigger fantasy: finding an amazing partner through a Craigslist ad, or finding the perfect place to live for just 500 bucks.
Story Two: Slippery When Wet
Our second smutty tale switches gears and takes place inside a college sorority, as if we needed any more erotic inspiration from this setting. Their club’s “Hell Week” has just concluded, and the ensuing spring break has left the sorority house deserted, save for two girls. Mandy is a new pledge, and has survived the numerous paddle spankings of hell week with an oddly impressive tolerance. Jill on the other hand is stuck on campus for break after getting dumped by her boyfriend, and is bored as all hell. Events transpire, and eventually Mandy and Jill find some lesbian porn DVDs…I wonder if spring break will be quite as boring as they first thought…
Once again, the sexual content is white hot. Featuring spankings, masturbation, oral, and manual stimulation complete with the filthy dialogue to make the story sizzle, the one handed read club will have no issue with what’s presented here. What’s disappointing however, are the numerous “almost” tangents the story could have taken. I’d wager that the author had some deeper ideas for Mandy and Jill that didn’t quite get off the ground. Mandy is quite clearly a sub-brat with a passion for spanking and naughty rule breaking. Jill had a sexual experience with another sorority girl, but has an odd sense of reflection on this when Mandy offers to masturbate in front of her. It’s much better to have included this story rather than throw it in the scrap heap of unfinished stories, and the power exchanges between the two is well worth the price of admission. So as long as some painfully worn stereotypes don’t deter your enjoyment, Slippery When Wet will enrich both your academic experience and your hand-eye coordination.
Story Three: Cheer Camp Lesbians
Cheer Camp Lesbians begins, as you might expect, with some young co-eds honing their craft at a competitive cheer camp. Brittani and Summer are rooming together at camp and are quickly becoming the all-stars of the group. Brittani’s jumps and moves are on point, but one thing has been missing. She’s never been away from her boyfriend for this long…and well, a girl’s got needs. After a key vote of confidence from her coach at practice and Summer slipping off to the shower in their dorm, Brittani can finally get a little self relief. While Brittani is gently rubbing away some tension, Summer comes out of the shower unexpectedly…and it seems like it might be time to learn a new routine.
Although it’s the third story in the bunch, there is still plenty of variety in the steamy moments so none of the passion feels like a retread. There is once again a slight hint at a dom/sub narrative, but that seems to be more of a characterization of experience than power. Unfortunately, this go-round fumbles a bit in regards to the character’s sexuality. “First time” in this genre usually means a measure of bi-curious that bubbles to the surface, but in this story Brittani appears more heterosexual, and more significantly, monogamous. The author’s not being unrealistic, however this reader has never been a fan of the “with a girl doesn’t count as cheating” line of thinking. Still, it’s a hot read, and at the end of the day Cheer Camp Lesbians is the most realistic story of the bundle, flaws and all.
Story Four: The Lesbian Clone
Saving the most interesting tale for last, The Lesbian Clone goes for the “big-time” as a tennis legend named Melody seems a shoe-in to claim yet another women’s grand slam. In the semi-final Melody catches a brutal ankle injury and all hope of victory seems lost. An eccentric fan and scientist presents Melody and her husband/trainer with a solution: human cloning. Putting the science of it aside for a moment, Melody soon has an identical copy ready to compete in next week’s final. Clone Melody is identical to the original in every way, but without the disposition to lie to herself about her personal feelings. Despite the original’s concern, clone Melody isn’t sexually interested in “their” husband…she has something else on her mind.
The intrigue of having sex with your clone pretty much goes without saying. The passionate scenes are of course interesting, but I’m more taken by the challenge of the author’s idea. This isn’t merely an opportunity to literally go fuck yourself, as Melody’s clone has a clearer mind when it comes to the sexuality of the two of them. Of all the clone fiction I’ve encountered, the idea that a clone would express sexual desires without the years of guilt, repression, and normalization of the source human is fascinating. Who better to help bring out your curiosities than a person who knows exactly what you crave deep down, but yourself?
Verdict: First Time Lesbians: A Lesbian Desires Bundle provides a quartet of exciting #lesfic novellas that end up becoming greater than the sum of their parts. Positive, passionate, funny, and even challenging at times, Riley Richman satisfies multiple layers of the Lesbian Smut demographic, taking some chances that pay off for the most part. Richman proves that enjoyable graphic raunchy sex can still be well-written, and this bundle is a shining example.
