Welcome back to the Smut Vault! We’ve got another audio book today, and we’re taking a look at unrepressed nymphomania. Being a nympho is one of those adjectives that people choose to use as a matter of hyperbole. You know, the kind of folks that think a daily roll in the hay constitutes stating “omg, I’m such a nympho lol.” Today’s article is about nymphomania at the more literal level. What life might it be like to be someone that truly could never get enough? Someone that works through pain, through whatever life might be throwing at them, but will always be striving to that next orgasm. Buckle up folks, this one’s going to get kinda crazy.
Match, Cinder & Spark Volume 1: Nymphomania and the Single Girl by H.H. narrated by Jupiter Grant is an audio book of the first volume put together by a noted sex blogger and what it’s like to be with the love of his life. This love of his life, Lola, is best described by her sexuality. Lola is the sort that can never quite get enough, someone defined by their nymphomania. After a brief introduction what follows are 29 chapters of absolute lust put on paper and fed through our ears by the deep sensual voice of Jupiter Grant. As per usual, Grant’s voice lends well to the source material and the sexuality of both the male writer and female subject matter are displayed clearly and individually. This source material, mind you, never lets off the gas pedal for the duration of the ride.
Each chapter tells its own story, and can be enjoyed in a non-linear format. Some stories are brief little snippets of a sexual escapade, such as a new sex toy and it’s….um, unboxing one particular evening. Others skew more towards the philosophic, with the author’s personal musings on sexuality and mental conditioning. And finally, there are the stories that are simply batshit crazy to the average stick in the mud like myself. This is where the confessions of a nymphomanic switch gears from lusty jealousy to earnest compassion for someone that has so much of their life defined by this sexuality trait. The constant masturbation, the bravery and clarity to see the pleasing sexual characteristics in all people, the bonding with her partner over such a lifestyle, all of it can be seen in some light as a healthy sex drive turned up all the way to 11. But certain stories, if not embellished for pure fictional gold, leave me scratching my head. After hearing about the sensual properties of manually masturbating a horse, I’m left more with concern for the animal’s welfare than I am with arousal. The comparisons to this sexuality as a drug by the author are made intensely apt in moments like this. When does something no longer exist for pleasure, and only exists to keep you normal?
Verdict: Nymphomania and the Single Girl by H.H. narrated by Jupiter Grant is a philosophical blockbuster to the notion of sexuality as it pertains to nymphomania. With each chapter serving as a sexual anecdote, the range of scenarios will keep most lusty listeners entertained, if not clutching at their pearls at the unique content. I had trouble listening to this book all in one go, as I don’t think that’s the best way to enjoy this. Take 15 minutes with your partner every day or so and have a listen to a chapter or two. Maybe the sexy talk will get you in the mood. Maybe it’ll give you a whole new idea for your bedroom routine (horse-free). Or maybe, this selection of confessions will make you think a little more about what it means to have your life defined by your sexuality, and how powerless we truly could be to it. Perhaps a nice quiet evening of knitting would be better enjoyed instead, as it certainly won’t stain the sheets.
