Welcome back to the Smut Vault! Time is but a precious thing. With what little time we have on this earth together, I think it’s important to to spend that time fully exploring the beauty and cultures of the art forms to which we hold most dear. For some, that might be sculpture, and for others, they may prefer oil on canvas. For me however, it’s dirty words on a page, as we collectively strive to find that next great adjective for penis. Throughout noble pursuits such as these, every once in a while I find myself torn between what is genuinely sincere and what is comical. Should erotic stories always be taken seriously when not explicitly stated as a lighthearted comedy? Where might the line be between raunchy shock value and uncomfortable sexual experiences? I’m hoping today’s selection will help us with just such a question. Hold on tight as we blast through the double steel doors, it’s time to explore erotica in an old-new way here at The Vault.
Endlessly Aroused Volume 1 by Shane Savage is series of guilty pleasure erotica shorts that make the bold claim to have us “running to the bathroom to clean yourself.” Sounds like the kind of challenge we’d be down for. There’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s keep things simple. We selected the first two stories and decided to take a deep dive into each one, sprinkling in our thoughts along the way. For the opener, we start with an early Saturday morning in peaceful slumber…
Morning Lust
The first story starts this volume on unique footing. For a change, we as the reader are in the 2nd person role as the female in a heterosexual erotica. We’re nameless, as is the gentleman whose house we spent the previous night. Nothing has happened, so far, but we must have primed his pump as we’re awoken by our friend in that very special way. He was a gentleman last night, but all that’s about to change. What follows is a pretty straight forward scene of steam, but being the receiver of the attention without the control of the narrative might take a bit of getting used to. To put it blunt: if the idea of YOU getting a cock in the face as your morning wake up call followed by a verbal tongue lashing with no holes barred rough sex doesn’t work for you, it might require a rethink to your approach to the story. While the story would prefer you to be part of the action, I would recommend imagining it as a “lost letter” from a lover recounting the best morning of his life. In any event the book starts off with a bang and I’m excited to see what arrives as an encore…
GA-101
The second tale of lust provides a more structured setup, with a ten chapter first person narrative introducing us to Nini, a young office worker with a series of insatiable urges. While this story is more structured in format, the vernacular and campy execution shifts from sexy-serious, to sexy-silly in comparison to the volume’s first story. Nini has recurring dreams that she’s being gangbanged unexpectedly, and loving every minute of it until she’s sadly spoiled by the harsh reality of waking up. Nini seems like a lot of fun, but she’s not going to be winning any “Miss Manners” awards with her sailor mouth and even naughtier monologues.
After dreaming the steamiest of forbidden fantasies, she simply can’t get this idea out of her mind. What progresses is a series of sexual fantasies that are eventually mixed with some good ol’ fashioned paranormal elements. The “GA-101” from the story title refers to an chemical additive that apparently helps horses….uhhhh, breed. Stay with me here, but events transpire with secondary characters and a risky sex cavalcade takes place that is equal parts raunchy and disgusting, depending on your tastes. Nini is that classic old world erotica character that isn’t just looking for a good time…but doesn’t even possess the ability to find displeasure in anything offered to her. Golf balls in the mouth? Bring it on. Air tight gangbang? Sign her up. Humiliating and uncalled for golden shower? Somebody’s found a brand new kink! Rough around the edges, her word choice is curious at best, and frankly off-putting at worst. After the Smut-lovers dictionary is covered A-Z through this fuck engorging plot device, a humorous ending ties the story together and makes this journey enjoyable even if it’s not sexually pleasing for all readers. I can’t describe how happy I was that the ending was given this consideration. It saves the story, but still doesn’t make me want to find a Nini out in the wild, I don’t think my poor heart could take it.
Verdict: Endlessly Aroused Volume 1 by Shane Savage is a bounty of sexual explorations that aren’t without their charm, even when the content seems to lack anything that would constitute reverence with the word. The sexual mechanics are where the author’s effort is most clearly recognized, and when looking for some good clean fun this work becomes a fine option. If you prefer your erotica high on energy and low on guilt, these sexcapades will do the job and then some. Moreover, if you like the idea of your author strapping you in (probably literally) and taking you on a ride of challenging sex exploration, this might be a good place to start. This book may be the siren song for today’s style of submissive reader, and we’re always down for a great new way to tell a story.
