The Smut Vault is back for more, as it seems we’re never fully satisfied. This week we’re stepping back into the open source world, and reviewing a selection from a Medium writer that’s only in this for the good of the craft. Paid only in flushed cheeks and sexy thoughts, let’s see if we can provide some wages to another up and coming talent. Sexy times are only a click away, let’s get to it!

The Date by “Tom B.” of Medium is the brief story of a workplace flirtation that takes that extra step waaaaaaay into the realm beyond the point of no return. Tommy and Cindy seem like that all too typical “work marriage” where coworkers share everything to each other, under the guise that their passion will never need to be explored physically. Well, maybe they thought about that before our story picks up, because these two seem ready to fuck. Cindy has “casually” informed Tommy of the restaurant she’ll be dining with her husband tonight, and perhaps the pair already know what the evening might bring before the reader. Tommy shows up to the restaurant in his finest suit, tables away from Cindy and her increasingly intoxicated husband. Cindy’s off to the ladies room, and Tommy follows swiftly behind. Did this all go according to plan, or this about to be the world’s worst misunderstanding?
For being a short story on an open source website, the author paints a pretty vivid picture in just a few introductory paragraphs. It’s raw, real, and without apology. We don’t know if Cindy’s husband is a willing cuck, a shitty guy that won’t give her the time of day, or simply a victim of cheating. We’re better not knowing, as the reader is allowed to make their own call, and without all the context, would have been troublesome. What’s not left to the imagination though, is the hot steamy screwing taking place in the restaurant lavatory. Tommy and Cindy get to business quickly, and the scene is written with an appropriate intensity that this is a unique new experience. Mechanically speaking, if you’re just looking for a hot scene, this has already covered your time investment and then some. If you’re in the mood for an infidelity story, so much the better. While this is not my cup of tea as a matter of subject, I was able to invest my energy into what was happening in the moment, and it made me want to know more about these forbidden lovers and what got them to this moment.
Verdict: The Date by Tom B. is a hot little number that will satisfy seekers of infidelity erotica as well as people just looking for a scene hot enough to fog their glasses. With a healthy amount of tension, this specific sub genre is served well, but using brevity to its advantage, the reader is permitted to explore the space on their own if things start to travel out of bounds. For only one solid sex scene in a minimally structured story, the author does an excellent job of enticing the reader for more. Do Tommy and Cindy take greater risks after their hot first encounter? Does the husband factor into things more than we realized? Boy, it sure would be nice to find out, and I’m thinking that’s just the way our writer likes it.
Special thanks to Tom B. for requesting a review with TehBen.com. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
