It’s been an amazing 60-ish reviews this year, and I’ve been beyond humbled to have been able to share my thoughts with the erotica community and engage directly with the authors themselves. This of course is NOT the end, as so long as I have the means and ability, I will continue reviewing this under appreciated genre of fiction into 2020 and beyond! No need to get ahead of ourselves, we’ve still got a tingly little story to review and it’s from a friend of the vault that’s taught us a thing or two about how love comes in many shapes and sizes. We’ve already had a taste, now let’s get the whole scoop. It’s Smut time y’all!
A Taste of Submission: Darkest Kink by The Secret Submissive is the third in the spiritual continuation of the author’s written exploration of their BDSM lifestyle. We’ve reviewed two such IRL inspired stories from this author before, and with each edition, we take another step up the ladder of kinky submission. Nisha Chaudhary is driving her car to an unassuming carpark, preparing herself for what we’re led to believe is a sexy encounter. A regular wife and mother, Nisha was a woman in need of something new, something a little more spicy in her love life. While the yet unknown moment of truth is upon us, Nisha jumps the gun and begins to pleasure herself to the prospect of what’s to come. Suddenly, Nisha has a blindfold thrown over her and is thrown into the back of a van with the most dire of force. Is this all going according to plan or is Nisha in for the ride of her life? Hell, why not both?
The abduction fantasy, well that’s one hell of a way to escalate things! Thankfully the reader isn’t kept in the dark for very long and we learn that this story’s interpretation of “Sir” is fulfilling a shared fantasy for this emboldened couple. A quick break of character from Sir to confirm Nisha is still willing and able, and we’re all in for a little consenting-non-consent for the duration. I should probably take this moment to inform that Sir is not Nisha’s husband, nor anything other than having the title of Dom. We’re given some flashbacks to Nisha’s life before exploring this level of submission, and none of it seems to have much to do with her at-home life. Let us be clear, this is not a cheating fantasy: Nisha’s husband insisted she seek out a Dom. It feels pretty thin on the ground, but the polyamorous aspect is what keeps this BDSM relationship above board. To this reader however, she’s hopelessly more in love with who she is as Sir’s sub. Nisha briefly recounts or implies many many many occasions in which she’s away from home (and her alleged two children) and providing more nurturing to Sir’s cock than anything in that blasted normie life. Weekends, trips to bars, all manner of outings that end up with fucking and serving Sir. The tone to me is someone who would have it all this way if she could, a desire to simply be locked away and used as a sexual object without having to unilaterally make that hard unspoken decision to change her life for good. Okay, so I’m only meeting this side of her in this story’s context, maybe that’s not fair. And besides, we’re not here to ask questions, we’re here to please Sir.
The fantasy quickly moves to Sir’s house, and we’re painted a lovely, if not terrifying picture of the amount of care and detail the Dom has put into this experience. Nisha is going to feel just like the captured vulnerable virgin she’s yearned to be in this moment, and the sexual content will come with a tax of intense moments. Sparing the details, extra special praise must be paid to the author’s abilities at nailing scene writing and atmosphere. I mean, sexy times aside, she’s got me fretting about this character’s undocumented home life…so what’s actually on the page is fantastic as well. The sex is constant, nearly to the point of being overwhelmed, but surely a great insight to the submissive’s pleasure overload in just such a scenario. Just as in this series’ last story, proper BDSM mechanics are used, including the rare use of a safe word, showing that when done properly and with safety in mind, the gratification to be scored here could be beyond our wildest expectations.
Verdict: A Taste of Submission: Darkest Kink by The Secret Submissive is a deep dive into an abduction fantasy that doesn’t compromise in intensity nor proper BDSM safety to give participants and readers alike a satisfying experience. With a bounty of sexual activities including bondage, heavy spanking, captive play, and even some hints at CNC blackmail the main characters are truly living up to the name of finding their innermost dark desires. I’m almost afraid to learn where this series might go to further the depths of this amalgamation’s kink exploration, but at least I’ll always have my safe word. And when it comes to BDSM erotica, we’re already better off than most. Thank you Sir, may I have another?
